Fooled Fool
There were once the hunchback and the fool. They work for a prosperous merchant. The hunchback worked as movers and the fool worked as accountant. None of them seem to put a good, sincere effort for him, though they were polite enough on his eyes.
The hunchback and the fools' relation was always in a proper term, but not close enough to be called good. Too many games played, too many power involved. They compete to control the merchant, because they thought that the merchant is just trash without them.
Both of them were confident with their ways. Each of them believe that somehow they managed to fool another. The hunchback believe that he had fool the fool that he was humpbacked and suffered of his fate. He have nothing but strength. He was amused by the way the fool keep encouraging him that his humpbacked fate would have their own good side, which is his strength. None that the fool knew that the hunchback told the merchant once that the fool had deceive the merchant with accounting and the only one he could trust is him. He worked so hard in front of the merchant. He doublelifted the stack, drove the boxes further, and helped more to show him who the true hardworker is.
Meanwhile, the fool was certain that he could toy with the hunchback's feeling by his encouragement. He was contended to play pretend with the hunchback while he mock the misshapen like everytime in his head. In one opportunity he told the merchant that the hunchback stole from the merchant little by little and that the hunchback is strong enough to hurt the merchant. He always make a neat and clear report, and the number he count, the trade he presume, the decision for the merchant should make, was always precise and perfect. He believe that he had appeal the merchant by his cleverness.
None of them put a slight doubt on the merchant's reaction as they believe that the merchant is stupid. The merchant just keep nodding on the words they say. In the matter of fact, the merchant has cleverly won the two battles he never fight for. He won the hunchback's preseverance and tenacity, and he also won the fool's cleverness and all the decision that he took the best, only by a single nod and the pretence to be a fool they want to see.
In the separate case, the two workers believe that the other side had somehow be fooled. They believe that they or himself won control over the merchant. They keep play pretend: a good company outside, but stab each other backside. Of course, while giving the merchant all of the treasure he wants to.
